Summary: With the rapid development of technologies like AI for science, the demand for computing power has exponentially increased. This Recommendation aims to specify the framework and functional requirements of heterogeneous resource in AI cloud platform. It clarifies the heterogeneity of resources, system framework, and jobs and defines the functional requirements of resource management, scheduling management, job management, and operation and maintenance. On the one hand, it can provide a guidance for AI engineers to manage resources and develop AI cloud platforms. On the other hand, resource management is defined as a core component of AI cloud platform in ITU-T F.AICP-GA (Technical specification for artificial intelligence cloud platform - general architecture) which provides the technical specification and capability requirements. This new work item can be a essential part for the series of recommendations of AI cloud platform.
