Summary: With the advancement of artificial intelligence application based on IoT, it introduces new features like ubiquitous intelligence perception, cloud-edge collaborative computing, distributed machine learning, and more. Physical computing resources are required to match the new intelligent IoT characteristics of terminal intelligence, especially for the IoT ubiquitous intelligence and distributed intelligence. It is necessary to have a computing architecture that is consistent with the development of the intelligent computing for Internet of Things. This technical report describes the status of the distributed intelligent computing (DIC) based on IoT. It also specifies gaps and challenges in existing work, as well as the reference framework and typical functional entities which would support the DIC.
