Summary:

Recommendation ITU-T Y.4811 specifies a converged service for identification and authentication for IoT devices in decentralized environment (CSIADE), and provides its common characteristics, general requirements, functional architecture, main capabilities and procedures. CSIADE can facilitate IoT devices and IoT services to identify and authenticate each other in IoT decentralized environments when they use same or different types of decentralized IoT identification and authentication solutions.
This draft Supplement provides a set of implementation guidelines to perform the CSIADE defined in Recommendation ITU-T Y.4811, including that of CSIADE as an independent system and as subsystem embedded in IoT devices and services, to improve compatibility when using self-resolving identities for IoT devices and services, to use self-controllable storage to manage identities of IoT devices and services, to support online and offline endorsement for the identity of IoT devices and services, and to support multiple solutions of identification and authentication in CSIADE. This draft Supplement is to promote the implementation and deployment of CSIADE.
