Summary:
|
This draft Supplement provides practical use cases from real cities on how to measure selected city KPIs such as air quality, noise pollution, road quality, among others, by using the Next Generation Urban Measurements methodology described in ITU-T Y.SSC-NGUM.
This draft Supplement complements the Recommendation ITU-T Y.4903/L.1603 which gives general guidance to cities and provides key performance indicators (KPIs) for smart sustainable cities (SSCs) to help cities achieve sustainable development goals (SDGs).
Next Generation Urban Measurements methodology in ITU-T Y.SSC-NGUM uses innovative sensing techniques to collect extensive and more frequent city data from various locations in the city at different times. This draft Supplement will illustrate how real cities collect extensive amount of data from various locations in the city through fixed (e.g. buildings) and mobile units (e.g. taxis, satellites), at different times during the day (and the week), and will discuss how KPIs are measured by these cities. It will also illustrate the high-level architectures adopted by these cities to collect, store and process measurements data by using various technologies (e.g. IoT, AI).
