Summary:
|
As autonomous vehicles and connected cars have emerged, the importance of innovative vehicle software technologies, such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS), has increased. In particular, ADAS technology using combination of cameras, sensors and human-machine interface (HMI) technology is widely used.
However, since these technologies are still focused on assisting a driver and operating the vehicle, protecting the privacy of drivers and passengers is not sufficiently considered. In many cases, the camera will film drivers, passengers, and unspecified people outside the vehicle without their consent. Therefore, anonymization is essential for protecting privacy in the environment of autonomous vehicles.
Therefore, it is important to promote the study of anonymization techniques specific to the autonomous vehicle environment. This Recommendation provides an overview of anonymization techniques using face images in autonomous vehicles and an evaluation method to improve the maturity of anonymization
