This Recommendation proposes to develop the detailed methodology to guide companies to use ICTs to manage E-waste recycling and disposal.
Operation principles will be set at first to make sure that using ICTs can support E-waste management and achieve efficiency increasing and cost reduction. Then, this Recommendation will establish the framework of ICTs application about E-waste management based on each stage of the E-waste life cycle, including E-waste collection, logistic, dismantling, recycling and final disposal, and this Recommendation will provide detailed operation approaches and related ICT explanation for each stage of this framework. Finally, using ICTs to manage E-wastes requires various hardware and software capacity. This Recommendation will summarize these capabilities.
This Recommendation will create benefits for companies which is in the electronic equipment or product production industry and want to establish the circular business model. Through using ICTs to manage E-waste disposal and recycling, these companies can achieve the better management for substantial and scattered data, optimization of resource allocation and substitution of manual handling. It will support these companies to achieve efficiency increasing and cost reduction in the process of E-waste management, supporting them to create greater contribution on global waste reduction.
