 ITU Regional Workshop on Bridging the Standardization Gap for the Arab and Africa regions and Interactive Training Session

Programme

The workshop is designed to provide concrete advice and best practices on participation by developing countries in global standards development and building nation standards readiness. It will also examine standards work on key new technologies.

Objectives: The session will provide information on the WTSA-08 Res. 76, WTDC-10 Res. 47 and the Resolution on conformity and interoperability approved at PP-10. It will present the Conformity and Interoperability programme of the standardization sector. The session will also discuss the problem of counterfeit ICT equipment and best practices that can be adopted to curb this issue.

Interactive Training Session: Standardization Tutorial

The session will provide an overview of international standardization (organizations, preparation, participation, management, etc), how to prepare good input contributions and output reports and training in concrete measures for developing countries to participate effectively in ITU-T. The session will introduce the interactive training session and begin the simulated international meeting.
