With Royal Philips Electronics for 25 years, in research, factory automation,
supply chain automation, office automation, and the last 6 years in Philips Medical Systems.
The aim of the Philips Medical interoperability program is to define and select appropriate
standards for information exchange in the healthcare enterprise, and implement these standards
in our products. The main standards in use are DICOM and HL7, which we deploy in line with the
Integrating the Healthcare Enterprise (IHE) blue-print.
I’m a member of the DICOM Executive Committee, and the industry co-chair of the DICOM Strategic
Advisory group. I’m also the key representative for Philips Medical Systems to HL7, and the co-chair
of the IHE Radiology Technical Committee.
