Stanislas Bourgain holds the French equivalent to a BA in telecommunications science from the National Institute of Telecommunications in Paris. This, together with fluent Russian, got him a post in the Cultural and technical cooperation department of the French Embassy in Moscow. Back in France, he then worked in Bouygues Telecom for over a year and, after a short stay with Winstar Communications, moved on to his present post with the ART. In the Internet Unit of the ART he is in charge of Internet issues: Interconnexion, IP addressing and Internet naming issues, relationship with Internet service providers and Internet actors.

Jim is Director of European Operations for Nominum, the company leading DNS protocol development and providing DNS and DHCP solutions. He has been involved in the Domain Name System and running name servers for over a decade. Prior to joining Nominum, he designed and built the DNS infrastructure for the internal network of Philips Electronics bv, one of the biggest in the world. He is a consulting editor for Addison-Wesley and is writing a book on DNS administration in his non-existent spare time. Jim was the main author of last year’s ITU discussion paper on the Global Implementation of ENUM.

Gary Richenaker is an expert in the areas of numbering, naming, and addressing in both the domestic and international arenas. His 24-year career with Bell Laboratories, Bellcore, and Telcordia has included responsibilities in technical analysis, strategic planning, marketing, planning and forecasting. Holds a BS in Economics and an MBA in Management.

Joakim Strålmark is an engineer at the Swedish National Regulatory Authority1 (NRA) for telecom matters. He works at the technical department that handles questions concerning network interconnection, numbering and other telecom services issues. He has been at the NRA since 1995 and has done a great deal of work with the introduction of fixed and mobile number portability in Sweden. Numbering and addressing is a major task for the technical department and that also includes attending different standards organizations, such as in ITU-T and ETSI, and in similar groups under the European Commission and CEPT.

Steven D. Lind is currently responsible for managing AT&T’s standards strategies in the area of International and IP-related Numbering. He has been involved in standards development since 1984 and has participated in various committees of the American National Standards Institutes (ANSI), the International Standards Organization (ISO), and the ITU-T. In the past, he has been responsible for defining and administering aspects of the International Telecommunication Charge Card as well as chairing the ISO Registration Management Group for ISO/IEC 7812. He has also been involved in various efforts within the area of Electronic Commerce.

Jie Zhang is a senior engineer at the Research Institute of Telecommunications Transmission, Ministry of Information Industry. She has worked for national numbering issues in China since 1992. Besides, she has also been involved in standards development in the areas of intelligent network, network interworking and softswitch technology.
