The strong demand of the Consumers for ease to use Car Infotainment Solutions ( for Navigation, Communication and Entertainment) , caused an own dynamic of the market, which is now supported by Intel: > 2.5 million Navigation - PDA bundles were sold in the last 20 months in Europe, next trend is to bundle Smartphones, but also Mobile PC´s , which have a very small and light form factor ( Sony Vaio U70 as an example) . The ww first Intel based Car PC is in sales by BMW since Oct 2004. Car Kit Makers are in the last hot phase to get Kits ready for different Infotainment - Consumer Devices, to use them in the Car for navigation but also Entertainement / Communications. Next is: a higher integration, done by the Automotive OEM´s: how can the life cycles of that Consumer - Compute - Devices coexist with the lifecycles of the Car ? Is the solution a gateway with basic functions as communication - interface for the Digital Home and Digital Office world, which the Customers want to use in the Car on the Go ? Intel presents the engagements for this strong growing market and first solutions. |
