Title of Presentation: |
Mobile Device Integration - Opportunities and Risks |
|
During the last years Bluetooth technology drove the integration of a plurality of mobile phones into OEM handsfree solutions. Various car OEMs recently announced products that connect Apple’s popular ipod player to their infotainment systems, thus extending the range of consumer devices that become integrated into cars. The presentation addresses HMI issues that arise when external consumer devices are brought into the car. Devices include mobile phones, smartphones, Apple's ipod, USB Sticks, USB MP3 Players, maybe even digital cameras and potentially more. It further outlines opportunities and risks of integrating consumer devices into cars and finally discusses whether mobile devices could boost the telematics market that has recently slowed down.
