Martin POTTS
Martin Potts is the director of Martel GmbH, which is based in Bern, Switzerland. He has a degree in Electronic Engineering and has worked previously for Plessey (UK), British Telecom (UK) and Ascom (CH).
He has participated in collaborative European research projects in the telecommunications area since 1985, and as a project manager of some of the largest ones since 1992. He is currently assisting Cisco in the management of the EU-IST project “6NET”, which has built a native IPv6 test network for research across Europe and to the US and Asia-Pacific regions.
He has held strategic chairmanships in EU organisations addressing Test Infrastructures, Network Interoperability and Premium IP. He is a member of the core team for the EU project NGN-Initiative and one of the editors of their Roadmap.
He has several published papers (most recently in the January 2003 IEEE Communications Magazine Special Issue on IP QoS) and is a member of many international conference Programme Committees (Eurescom, Interworking, Networking 2004, ….).
