Webinar – Connected Communities: Harnessing the Power of Digital Public Infrastructure

Description

Digital Public Infrastructure (DPI) is a digital network which acts as an enabler for public and private sector in countries to deliver economic opportunities and social services safely and efficiently to all residents. It is a core component in the digital transformation journey of a country. DPI – includes interoperable components for digital ID, digital payments, trusted data sharing and provides foundational digital platforms that can be leveraged for services and transactions across the public and private sectors, with the potential to facilitate inclusive and resilient digital economies. It can be harnessed to foster innovation and competition, expand markets, close gaps in financial inclusion, and help make financial transfers to the vulnerable. India’s journey in developing world-class DPIs (commonly known as India Stack) consisting of identification, payments system and trusted data exchange highlights powerful lessons for other countries embarking on their own digital transformation. This webinar provided a platform for sharing of experiences on the concept and implementation of the DPI, the importance of digital public goods for DPI,  and discussed areas where technical standards were needed.
