INTERNATIONAL TELECOMMUNICATION UNION RADIOCOMMUNICATION BUREAU (Direct Fax No. +41 22 730 57 85) Administrative Circular CA/3 18 January 1994 TO ADMINISTRATIONS OF MEMBERS OF THE ITU AND OTHER MEMBERS OF THE RADIOCOMMUNICATION SECTOR Subject: Invitation to participate in the work of the Radiocommunication Study Groups in the study period 1994-1995 The Radiocommunication Assembly, in November, 1993, approved revised work programme, structure and working methods for Radiocommunication (ITU-R) Study Groups for the 1994-1995 Study Period (See Annexes 1, 2 and 3). This Circular invites participation of Administrations and other members of the Radiocommunication Sector in the work of the Study Groups and their component Working Parties and Task Groups. From 31 March 1994, the list of participants and document requirements will be newly established on the basis of replies to this Circular. The Chairmen and Vice-Chairmen of former and new Study Groups, in a meeting from 22 to 23 November 1993, in consultation with the Director, established the calendar of meetings for 1994 and provisionally for 1995 (see Annex 4). It should be noted that former Study Group 12 has been renumbered Study Group 2 as of 16 November 1993 (see Annex 3). Other changes in the Study Group structure and chairmanships are effective at the close of Study Group meetings to be held in March 1994. The meetings calendar is fixed for all activities, except Working Parties of the new Study Group 3, which are shown in block. During the March meetings of Study Groups, specific dates will be assigned in the block. Names and addresses of Study Group Chairmen and Vice Chairmen are given in Annex 5. Attention is particularly invited to the Working Methods (Resolution ITU-R 1) given in Annex 1. These establish procedures and deadlines for contributions to Radiocommunication Study Group work. Documents for consideration in meetings held after March 1994 will be numbered in the new 1994-1995 series. In accordance with Resolution 59 of the Plenipotentiary Conference, Nice 1989, relating to the use of working languages of the Union, reciprocal interpretation among the working languages of the Union may be provided at Study Group meetings, within the resources available. Ninety (90) days advance notice is requested from the Member requiring interpretation. Due to limited resources, Working Parties and Task Groups are encouraged to use only one of the ITU working languages. Annex 6 gives a list of ITU-R Resolutions in force from 16 November 1993. Texts approved by the Assembly are in preparation for publication according to the contents shown in Annex 7. A separate Circular invites subscriptions to purchase these volumes. Annex 8 provides a form for announcement of intention of Adminis- trations or other members to participate in specific Study Groups, Task Groups or Working parties and to receive documents. If you wish to modify your existing request of documents presently on file, please return this form as soon as possible, preferably not later than 28 February taking into account that your new request will erase and replace all orders currently on file for your Administration/Organization.
