Amendment 2 to Recommendation ITU-T G.988 (2010) continues the maintenance and evolution of OMCI as defined in the Recommendation. A number of robustness improvements are included, along with corrections of editorial errors. Significant feature extensions include added flexibility in downstream VLAN tag treatment, provision for DHCP relay agent options in IPv4 and IPv6, and control of power over Ethernet capability.
