Summary

This Amendment to Recommendation T.38 specifies:

• V.34 support, allowing Group 3 facsimile terminals with V.34 half-duplex modulation capability, as specified in Rec. T.30, to transfer facsimile documents in real-time between two standard Group 3 facsimile terminals over the Internet or over other networks using IP protocols.
• Optional support for legacy V.33 G3FEs

·         Clarification of version interoperability

·         New Annex F, Procedures for the Interworking of T.38 and V.150.1 functions when supported in the same gateway.

·         Amended Annex E and Appendix III to add Call Establishment Procedures for T.38 Voice Media Gateways Capable of Autonomous Transitioning Between VoIP and FoIP.
