Summary - Y.3822 (09/2024) - Quantum key distribution networks – Requirements for autonomic quality of service assurance

The quantum key distribution network (QKDN) is expected to be able to provide optimized support for a variety of quantum key distribution (QKD) services. One of the challenges of the QKDN is to assure the network performance and different quality of service (QoS)/quality of experience (QoE) requirements of different application scenarios in an autonomic way. The autonomic capability for QoS in QKDNs will support the seamless intelligent decision-making closed loop of monitoring, learning, decision, and action sub-processes.
To enable the autonomic QoS assurance in QKDNs, Recommendation ITU-T Y.3822 specifies an overview, a conceptual model, high-level requirements and functional requirements of autonomic QoS assurance for QKDNs.
