Summary - Y.3825 (09/2024) - Integration of quantum key distribution network and time-sensitive network – Framework

Time-sensitive networking (TSN) aims to provide a reliable, low-latency, and low-jitter traffic flow service for time-sensitive (i.e., bounded latency) applications such as industrial Internet of things (IIOT) services and factory automation applications. The quantum key distribution network (QKDN) can provide highly secure cryptographic services with low latency for time-sensitive network. Recommendation ITU-T Y.3825 provides a framework for integration of QKDN and time sensitive network, including an overview and scenarios, network capabilities, the conceptual network structure, basic functions and overall operational procedures for integration of QKDN and TSN.
