Dr. Abdulla Firag is working as Director Networks, Dhiraagu, Maldives, since October 2016. Dhiraagu is the Maldives leading telecom service provider, providing fixed and mobile communication services. He joined Dhiraagu in 2012 and held key positions including Manager Access Engineering and Manager Network Quality Assurance. He is a qualified engineer and researcher with over 17 years of experience in telecommunications, electrical and energy sector.

 

He received the B.Eng. degree (with honors) in electrical and electronic engineering from the University of Adelaide, Australia in 1999, and M. Eng. and Ph.D. degrees from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, in 2003 and 2008, respectively. From February 2000 to June 2001 and July 2003 to June 2004, he was an Electrical and Electronics Engineer at the Maldives Airports Company, Maldives. From July 2004 to February 2006, he was the Project Manager of Renewable Energy Technology Development and Application Project, Ministry of Communication, Science and Technology, Maldives. From April 2009 to November 2011, he was a Postdoctoral Research Fellow with the College of Engineering, University of Canterbury, New Zealand.
