Correspondence Group on Resolutions and Recommendations

​The Correspondence Group on Resolutions and Recommendations met on Tuesday 10 December 2013 from 14:30 to 17:30 at ITU Headquarters, Room Popov.

Terms of reference for the Correspondence Group

 

  • Review existing Resolutions and Recommendations with a view to simplifying and abrogating them as appropriate and report to the next TDAG meeting on 11-13 December 2013.
  • Give due regard to the outcomes of the Regional Preparatory Meetings for the World Telecommunication Development Conference 2014 (WTDC-14), as far as the Resolutions and Recommendations are concerned.

Composition of the Correspondence Group

  • ​The Correspondence Group on Resolutions and Recommendations is open to all ITU Member States and Sector Members.
  • The Correspondence Group is chaired by Prof. Dr Vladimir Minkin (Russian Federation)
  • The Correspondence Group uses the mailing list itu-d-crr@itu.int -  Mailing list email archives
  • The Correspondence Group interactions may include e-mail exchange via the e-mail list or through electronic meetings.
  • The Correspondence Group convener is  the Chairman of TDAG, Prof. Dr Vladimir Minkin (Russian Federation).
  • Tasks assigned to the Bureau Members of the Telecommunication Development Advisory Group

Timeline

The Correspondence Group was established during the June 2013 meeting of the TDAG Bureau. The Group concluded its work on 10 December 2013 and submitted its report to the TDAG meeting on 11-13 December 2013. In the meantime, the Group worked through electronic means in accordance with the following timeline:

June 2013 Correspondence Group was established
October 2013 Consultation process was initiated with the membership.
A dedicated website was provided with background material on the issue. This website included reference to all ITU documents on the topic and contributions received from members.
An e-mail reflector list was established for those who had indicated an interest in the topic.
Initial input received from the membership was shared in a table on the dedicated website, organized by country in alphabetical order.
November 2013Preparation of draft report providing the results of the work of the Correspondence Group.
December 2013Finaliseation of report for meeting on 10 December 2013. The report was shared on the Correspondence Group's website and submitted to TDAG.
