Open doors at universities and companies

More than 500 Slovak high school girls participated in the first national Girls Day in this country. The most difficult was to explain what does "Girls Day" mean. Girls Day is an opportunity to see and experience something interesting through visits to companies and universities and this is really only for girls!

IT universities and companies opened doors to the girls and prepared for them different programs. The aim was to show them that working in IT means to have an interesting job, cooperate with interesting people, and grow professionally. What is important is to show that girls and women are welcomed in IT sector and can find their place there.

Teachers notes:

"Unbelievable! The first action where girls don't want to go shopping but want to visit companies. Congratulations!" Ján Motešický, Gymnázium Vranov nad Topľou

"Please, continue to do it. It is so different to see what these companies are really doing and not to only read about it. Girls were happy and very enthusiastic.  Darina Runová, Gymnázium Hubeného, Bratislava
