ITU/UNESCO Policy Forum

ITU and the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), in partnership with the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), held a Policy Forum in Paris, France, on 24 March 2017, to examine how innovation can ensure inclusive and equitable education for all.

The Forum provided Ministers of ICT to meet and work collaboratively and in cooperation with the private sector to ensure inclusive and equitable quality education and promote lifelong learning opportunities for all. It will look specifically at strategies to improve e-skills education and open associated learning and employment opportunities.

The Forum was held within the context of the UNESCO Mobile Learning Week 2017, a five-day event (20-24 March 2017) that convenes experts from around the world to help governments and other stakeholders understand how new technologies and policy approaches can spur improvement in education.  The Mobile Learning Week was organized around the theme “Education in emergencies and crises”.
