CyberSecurity, CERT & ICANN ECOSYSTEM Workshop, from 15 to 19 October 2018, Ouagadougou, Burkina Faso

CONTEXT

The Regional Office of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) for Africa in collaboration with the West African Telecommunications Regulatory Assembly (WATRA), the regional regulatory body for ECOWAS Member States and Mauritania, and the Africa Office for Internet Assignment of Domain Names and Numbers (ICANN), hosts a Cybersecurity Workshop, at the kind invitation of the Regulatory Authority for Electronic Communications and posts in Burkina Faso ( ARCEP), in Ouagadougou from 15 to 19 October 2018 at the Ouaga 2000 International Conference Center.

PURPOSE

The purpose of the workshop is to provide an appropriate platform for ICT regulators and other telecommunication industry players in the West Africa region to discuss and better understand the challenges of cybersecurity in the face of expansion of the digital industry.

Various topics will be covered, including among others the domain name industry, cybersecurity and national cyber security strategies, policies and laws, bockchain, electronic transactions.
 

WHO SHOULD ATTEND?

The workshop is dedicated to regulators in West Africa but remains open to any other regulator in the ITU member country of the Africa zone.
