The ITU Regional Development Forum (RDF) for the Africa region will take place on 20 - 21 May 2019 in Lusaka, Zambia, under the theme “Digital transformation to achieve SDGs”.

The Forum which is organized in partnership with the Ministry of Transport and Communication of Zambia and the Zambia Information and Communications Technology Authority (ZICTA), will be held at the Ridgeway Southern Sun Hotel.

Regional Development Forums provide an opportunity for high‐level dialogue between the Telecommunication Development Bureau (BDT) of the ITU and decision‐makers of ITU Member States and Sector Members on the activities carried out at the regional level, so that they can play a part in the implementation of the ITU Strategic Plan, Programmes, Projects and the Regional Initiatives.

The Regional Development Forum for Africa will discuss in detail the implementation of projects selected for the five regional initiatives approved by WTDC-17, providing members with an opportunity to exchange experiences and best practices on their implementation.
