ABOUT

A technological revolution that represents the future of computing and communications is taking place worldwide. This workshop seeks to give a thorough introduction to the emerging technologies and eco-systems of 5G and Internet of Things (IoT), m-Payment which are aspects of this revolution.

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is organizing the event in partnership with the Government of Antigua and Barbuda.

PURPOSE

The workshop will cover the next major phase of wireless and mobile telecommunications standards beyond the current 4G/IMT-Advanced standards, introducing the most dominant technologies and architectures. Issues related to the regulation of these new eco-systems will also be discussed i.e., technological landscape aspects and inherent challenges.

  • Financial and telecommunications/ICT regulators
  • Academia and Institutions critical to research and development of innovation sector

  • International Organizations, NGOs involved in financial inclusion programmes and Civil Society
