Every year, ITU and partners work together to inspire and encourage girls to pursue a future in ICTs, and bridge the gender digital divide. The aim is to encourage young women and girls to pursue their studies and careers in science, engineering, technology, mathematics (STEM) and help them achieve their dreams.
This year, the theme of Girls in ICT Day is ‘Leadership’. The
global Girls in ICT Day celebration will be held on 25 April 2024 at the FEU Tech Innovation Center, Far Eastern University, Manila, Philippines in coordination and collaboration with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT).
To celebrate Girls in ICT in the Americas, three distinct events will be held on 22, 24 and 25 April 2024.

The event co-organized by ITU and ANATEL, the Brazilian regulatory agency, will welcome 45 high school girls from the Instituto Federal de Brasilia, a public school.
The primary goal of the event is to facilitate connections with female role models in leadership positions at ANATEL, enabling them to share insights into their daily work lives with participants and thereby inspire and encourage the attendees to pursue or initiate a career in the field of technology.

The event, co-organized by ITU and CONATEL, will include a fair showcasing of Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) for girls. It aims to serve as a dynamic and inclusive platform, empowering and motivating them to delve into the realm of technology.
The event will feature:
- Interactive Workshops: Various workshops covering topics such as coding, robotics, digital art, game design, cybersecurity, and AI.
- Role Model Talks: Inspirational talks by women who have
made significant achievements in the field of technology.
- Tech Demos and Exhibitions: Booths and demonstrations
featuring the latest technology trends and innovations to allow girls to
interact with cutting-edge gadgets and software.
