The Prometeo Project is an initiative integrated
to the Ecuadorian National Plan for the creation of a knowledge-based
social economy. Its goal is to strengthen research, teaching and
knowledge transference in six fields of priority:
- Sciences of production and innovation
- Natural Resources
- Life Sciences
- Educational Sciences
- Pure Sciences
- Art & Culture
They are high level Ecuadorian or foreign experts (Ph.D) with broad
experiences in their fields of study who arrive to Ecuador in order to
develop a research or academic project in Ecuadorian host
institutions. Their projects contemplate stays between 2 to 12 months
(not necessarily in consecutive periods) and function as a grand
awarded by the Secretariat of Higher Education, Science, Technology
and Innovation of Ecuador.
The program is aimed at the generation of projects with a high
impact on Ecuador that contribute to achieve the goals set in the
National Plan of Good Living (http://bit.ly/WKtmFG).
According to these objectives, the experts may be incorporated to the
host institution for a second and, exceptionally, a third stay within
the country.
