Girls’ leading Role in Spreading Awareness of Digital Citizenship

The Girls in ICT 2024 Celebrations in Egypt will take place on 30 April from 10:30 to 14:00 Egypt time in Mansoura, Egypt. The event organized by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology (MCIT) in collaboration with the ITU and Delta American Schools (DAS), will take place on the premises of DAS.

MCIT, through its Central Community Development Department, is leading the effort to implement the "Digital Citizenship and Internet Safety Initiative," which aims to support Egyptian citizens, particularly youth and girls, in recognizing their rights, responsibilities, and opportunities on the internet. The initiative seeks to enhance their abilities to interact ethically, legally, and safely in the interconnected digital world.

The event aims to raise awareness and empower young girls to become exemplars of digital citizenship, drawing inspiration from influential role models in the ICT field. It encourages them to strive for personal growth and to envision themselves as future representatives of society.
