International Girls in ICT Day is an initiative backed by all ITU Member States in
ITU Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Rev. Busan, 2014). It aims to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
The Girls in ICT initiative of the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is a global effort to raise awareness on empowering and encouraging girls and young women to consider studies and careers in Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs). The initiative is committed to celebrate and commemorate the International Girls in ICT Day on the fourth Thursday of every April as established by the ITU membership.
This year, the International Girls in ICT Day is on 28th April 2016. The ITU Regional Office for Asia and the Pacific jointly with Cisco Systems (Thailand) Company Limited will celebrate the
International Girls in ICT Day is on 28th April 2016 at the office of Cisco Thailand. We are plaesed to invite ITU Membership, ICT companies, academic institutions, relevant UN agencies, NGOs and other stakeholders to celebrate and commemorate the day.
