Having over eighteen years of global experience, Haaris Mahmood Chaudhary, is an experienced telecom and finance industry veteran with vast and diverse experience in overseeing, finance, corporate, regulatory, public policy, risk management, profit and loss (P&L), multi-channel product distribution and marketing. Profoundly known in the telecom and financial, Haaris has been leading and spearheading initiatives in the private and public sectors over the years, while bringing in technological revolution in many of the companies he has worked with. Haaris Chaudhary currently is the Chief Executive Officer at the Universal Service Fund, a program of Ministry of IT and Telecommunications. Known for his exemplary leadership, Haaris is specialized in financial planning, strategy and has a proven track-record of persevering in crisis situations and spearheading business turn-around.
He has an on-ground experience of building and leading large operational structures having a vast experience in financial and regulatory matters with a potential of sound judgment and settlement of all sorts of financial disputes and financial management.
His current role at USF is a passion that he follows, bridging the digital divide between urban and rural communities of Pakistan, reducing the mobile internet gap, connecting and empowering the nation with hi speed broadband internet. Pior to his current role, he had already served as the Chief Financial Officer and Company Secretary at USF for over eight years, spearheading the organization’s initiative with the purpose to bridge the digital divide in the urban and rural areas of Pakistan.
He is also on the board of Zarai Zarai Taraqiati Bank Limited and has previously served on the board of directors of Pak Datacom and on the board of Overseas Pakistani Foundation.
Haaris has led many senior management positions in multinationals and international organizations; ABN AMRO, Barclays Capital and Credit Suisse, are some of the names that are associated with Haaris global professional experience. He has been engaged in Strategy and Operational roles in the USA, Middle East, and Asia.
With strong leadership experience, Haaris has been successfully managing teams in and outside Pakistan of different backgrounds and cultures.
