Introduction & Background 

A joint webinar series on “Digital Technology Innovations – Case Studies from India and the Asia-Pacific Region” is being organized by TSDSI and ITU, with support from the Department of Telecommunications, select Ministries of Govt of India and other partners from the Asia-Pacific region. This series will run from September 2021 to January 2022 with the goal of sharing knowledge of digital innovations emerging in the ASP region, and to discover their potential applications in different economies regionally.  

The Inaugural session of this series was scheduled on 2 September 2021 which showcased the India Stack and highlighted the ITU and engagement models, including the International Centre of Digital Innovation (I-CoDI). 

The second session of this series was scheduled on 29 September 2021. It highlighted the state of the digital financial services ecosystem in India and the Asia-Pacific. Additionally, it showcased regional innovations in digital financial transactions. 

This Third Session will focus on 5G and Fintech Revolutions 

Objective​​


ITU and TSDSI are organising a series of webinars to showcase innovation in various projects in India and in the Asia-Pacific region  by both public and private sector and its outcomes. The program would be driven by ITU and TSDSI, as well as partners including government departments, Academia, Private sector and other entities. 
  • Cross pollination: Generate Awareness of and sharing experiences of Digital Technology initiatives and success stories in the region 
  • Seeding: Channelize Research and innovations of the region into global Standards dialog – for current, emerging and futuristic technologies 
  • Build: standards development capabilities, participation and contributions from the region 
The webinars are intended to strengthen collaboration within the region on Digital communication technologies and standards. ​
