International Girls in ICT Day, celebrated on the fourth Thursday of April every year, is an initiative backed by ITU Member States in Plenipotentiary Resolution 70 (Guadalajara, 2010) to create a global environment that empowers and encourages girls and young women to consider careers in the growing field of information and communication technologies (ICTs).
The 2015 videoconference event, which will take place in the ITU Area Office for CIS on 23 April 2015, will be dedicated both to the International Girls in ICT Day and the ITU 150th Anniversary, which will be celebrated this year on 17 May.
