ITU in the CIS region presents a course on accessibility “Smart for all” in the Russian language

The modern world is becoming increasingly influenced by the evolution of technology, leading to the transformation of cities, countries, and communities. It is important to realize that the development of digital technologies should aim to ensure accessibility and inclusiveness for all, regardless of physical and mental abilities, age, and gender.

In this context, the International Telecommunication Union presents an educational course translated into Russian entitled "Smart for all: beyond smart cities, building inclusive and digitally accessible environments and communities”.

The course is designed to present the key elements of creating inclusive, smart, sustainable, and digitally accessible cities, environments, and communities and consists of four modules on the following topics: 

Module 1: Inclusive and digitally accessible environments and communities. This module will enable students to understand the key principles of inclusivity in the digital environment and their role in creating smart cities and communities.

Module 2: Key elements towards building inclusive and digitally accessible environments and communities.  The second module will provide information on the key components to consider when designing accessible and inclusive smart cities.

Module 3: Challenges and opportunities for inclusive and digitally accessible environments and communities. This analyzes the urban challenges and opportunities associated with embedding digital technologies in cities and communities to ensure accessibility and inclusivity.

Module 4: Resources to help build inclusive and digitally accessible environments and communities to meet the needs of present and future generations. The final module focuses on discussing strategies and tools for the successful implementation of smart technologies with inclusivity and accessibility in mind to leave no one behind.

After completing the course, attendees will have an understanding of the key role of digital accessibility and inclusivity, as well as the skills to create inclusive smart cities and communities.
