Huge resources are concentrated in the leading ecosystems of the world, which have a positive impact on the development of global startups, attracting the best personnel from around the world, providing access to financial resources of venture and angel investments, advanced scientific achievements and developments.

It is extremely difficult to achieve the same favorable environment in each of the countries of the CIS region in a short period, however, by combining all the resources of the region, we can create a competitive startup ecosystem, which is what the Startup Central Eurasia platform is striving for.

ITU created the Startup Central Eurasia platform a year ago and today it follows the “startup” principle, flexibly adapting to the needs of its target audience. The main goal of the Startup Central Eurasia is to pool resources across the region to provide the regional innovation ecosystem with all the necessary components for its successful development and competition with the world's leading startup ecosystems.

To help startups reach the next level, the platform organizes training sessions and a Venture day, where startups can present their projects and receive an investment proposal. For its participants, the platform offers access to the database of mentors, as well as information on entering the markets of the CIS countries.

Startup Central Eurasia team is currently working on improving its services and link more startups, IT companies, accelerators, incubators, and innovation agencies to the platform. In addition, the platform tracks the most important events in the region and highlights significant moments for both IT industries and startups themselves.

In November 2021, at the ITU seminar "Regional cooperation of startup ecosystems as a key factor in global digital leadership - Startup Central Eurasia Platform", organizations of the Central Eurasia region signed a communiqué on cooperation and creation of thematic alliances within the framework of the Startup Central Eurasia platform. Alliances members already include Astana Hub, IT-Park of Uzbekistan, IT-Park of Kyrgyzstan and Home of Startups of Ukraine.

The alliances will focus their work on artificial intelligence, fintech, business process outsourcing, education and venture capital financing. The main goal is to strengthen competitiveness of the participating countries in these areas by creating and developing joint projects.

In April 2022, the alliances will meet again to discuss prospects for further cooperation: namely, how to effectively develop the startup ecosystem of Central Eurasia, and the challenges faced by startups and representatives of the IT industry in the region, how to work together to increase the competitiveness of startups in international markets and improve access to investment from Silicon Valley.
