The visit of Mr. Brahima Sanou, BDT Director, to Tashkent, Republic of Uzbekistan, was organized at the invitation of H.E. Mr. Khurshid Mirzakhidov, Minister of Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan.
Within the framework of the visit, Mr. Sanou had a meeting with Mr. Khurshid Mirzakhidov, Minister for Development of Information Technologies and Communications of the Republic of Uzbekistan, at with the parties discussed the modalities of strengthening cooperation between the Republic of Uzbekistan and the ITU.
Also, within the framework of the visit, Mr. Sanou got acquainted with the results of the implementation of project under the CIS regional initiative approved by WTDC-10: Provision of a stable electric power supply for telecommunication/ICT facilities in rural and remote areas.
On 17 September 2015, Mr. Sanou visited Uzbektelecom branch located in the city of Samarkand and had a meeting with the staff of the branch. Also, Mr. Sanou had a videoconference with the Uzbektelecom facility Zambar, where the hybrid system of alternative energy supply was installed under the implementation of the CIS regional initiative approved by WTDC-10.
On 18 September 2015, Mr. Sanou attended the ICT Summit 2015, one of the events under the ICT Week 2015. At the opening of the Summit, Mr. Sanou delivered a greeting speech.
