The visit of the ITU Secretary-General, Dr. Hamadoun Touré to Moscow, Russian Federation, was organized at the invitation of Mr. Nikolai Nikiforov, Minister of Telecom and Mass Communications of the Russian Federation. The objective of the mission was to appreciate the contribution of the Russian Federation to the ITU activities, discuss the modalities of further cooperation between the Russian Federation and the ITU, as well as preparation for the forthcoming PP-14. Also, the visit was aimed at meeting with Rector of Moscow Technical University of Communication and Informatics (MTUCI), Mr. Artem Adzhemov, and Director General of Radio Research and Development Institute (NIIR) Mr. Valery Butenko to appreciate the active participation of the MTUCI and the NIIR in the ITU activities.
