n/workshop o​n implementation of projects related to broadband deployment and broadband access technologies took place at ITU Headquarters (ITU Montbrillant building, Room K) in Geneva, Switzerland on​ Wednesday, 25 September 2019, from 14:30 to 17:30 prior to the ITU-D Study Group 1 Question 1/1 Rapporteur Group meeting dedicated to “​Strategies and policies for the deployment of broadband in developing countries​”.​​​

​​​Background information

The session/workshop on implementation of projects related to broadband deployment and broadband access technologies, including implementation of ITU Regional Initiatives was held prior to the Question 1/1 Rapporteur Group meeting, as a part of implementation of the Question 1/1 workplan. The workshop was addressed to representatives of ministries, regulators, telecom operators, universities and general education institutions, telecommunication equipment manufacturers, research and design institutes, software developers and other interested ITU stakeholders (Member States, Sector Members, Associates and Academia).

The outcomes of the workshop will feed into the Question 1/1 work and serve as a basis for the preparation of an overview of the state of implementation of the different project that are related to broadband deployment. ​
