This workshop on adoption of new digital technology for e-health, e-learning and other e-services will take place at ITU Headquarters (ITU Tower building, Room C2) in Geneva, Switzerland on Tuesday, 30 May 2023, from 14:30 to 17:30 preceded by the ITU-D Study Group 2 Question 2/2 meeting dedicated to “Enabling technologies for e-services and applications, including e-health and e-education​”.

Background information

New technologies are opening up new opportunities to attain the SDGs that were not possible before. New trends such as Artificial Intelligence, 5G, IoT, Big Data, etc. are enabling prevention, e-health, e-learning, and other e-services. Their adoption will remain dependent however on their affordability, accessibility, integration with existing systems and sustainable business models. This workshop will provide examples of some of the most promising technologies for e-services and discuss challenges for their adoption at large scale and means to address them.
