Cybersecurity threats continue to be a significant concern for governments, organizations, and individuals worldwide. With the increasing reliance on technology, the potential risks and consequences of cyber-attacks are also escalating. In this context, Cybersecurity Assurance Practices have emerged as a critical element in protecting networks, systems, and data from malicious activities. However, there is no one-size-fits-all approach, with national authorities and sector regulators often using different, and in some cases contradictory, practices – from self-assessments and voluntary guidelines to labelling schemes and rigid compliance checks. So how can policy-writers and decision-makers make sense​ of this ambiguity?

This workshop aimed to explore the global landscape of Cybersecurity Assurance by showcasing an array of ongoing practices and voices from across the globe. Through four panel discussions, the workshop delved into the meaning and scope of Cybersecurity Assurance Practices, their implementation, and how they can be adopted and recognized globally.

The workshop explored the definition of Cybersecurity Assurance Practices, providing an overview of the current landscape of such practices across various domains, and featured case studies from different countries, highlighting challenges faced, impact made, and lessons learned, before asking the crucial question of how such practices can be shared internationally.

It is intended that the outcomes of this workshop may drive the development of effective Cybersecurity Assurance Practices among participants by providing a platform for cross-learning and sharing of best practice and perspective. It is therefore hoped that the workshop may contribute to the strengthening of cybersecurity practices worldwide.​
