Indonesia hosts Regional Development Forum for Asia and the Pacific

The ITU Regional Development Forum for Asia and the Pacific was held in Bali, Indonesia on 20 March 2017.

The Forum was organized by ITU at the kind invitation of the Ministry of Communication and Information Technology of the Republic of Indonesia.

The Forum provided an opportunity for high-level dialogue, cooperation and partnerships among telecommunication/ICT policy-makers, regulators, industry, academia, regional and international development agencies and organizations on specific regional telecommunication/ICT issues.

"The Regional Development Forum provides a great platform to go into deeper discussions on regional priorities and achievements as well as strengthening and building new partnerships," said Mr Brahima Sanou. "Policy makers, regulators, private sector, development partners and all stakeholders of the ICT ecosystem need to establish structured cross-sectoral dialogues in order to realize the full potential of ICTs to accelerate the attainment of the Sustainable Development Goals."

The RDF was followed by the WTDC-17 Regional Preparatory Meeting for Asia and the Pacific from 21-23 March 2017.
