A Joint Declaration regarding Strengthening Child Online Protection in Malta between ITU and Malta Foundation for the Wellbeing of Society (MFWS) was signed on 10 October 2023 by Dr Cosmas Luckyson Zavazava, Director of ITU’s Telecommunication Development Bureau, and H.E. Marie-Louise Coleiro Preca, Chair of the Foundation.
The objective of the Joint Declaration is to:
- develop a self-sustainable train the trainers’ model in Malta, with the aim of scaling up the measurable impact of the initiative,
- exchange experience and information in the field of child online protection and delivery of capacity-building exercises,
- support interested countries in the Mediterranean region through the delivery of training of trainers for staff of the education system and localization of the ITU Child Online Protection Guidelines, including through sharing of good practices and awareness raising.
