Dr Hanane Naciri possesses extensive experience at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) as an ICT and radiocommunication engineer. She has played a lead role in conducting ICT projects relevant to the application of Radio Regulations. She has represented the ITU and organized plenary sessions and workshops in international and regional radiocommunication conferences.

She has also achieved scientific excellence at the international level at the French National Institute for Research in Computer Science and Control (INRIA), by conducting research and development in the field of ICT to establish international standards. During her research career, she taught computer science in engineering schools and university, and she has been a speaker and has published scientific papers in international conferences and scientific journals.

She has a long-standing passion for achieving excellence, creating beneficial long term relations with others, bringing people together, applying scientific knowledge and expertise as well as advocating and promoting technological advances.

As a gender focal point for the Radiocommunication Bureau, she has been leading the initiative of Network of Women for WRC-19. This ITU initiative aims at bringing together women in the radiocommunication sector by providing a forum for networking, knowledge sharing and mentoring.   

She holds a Doctorate degree in computer science from INRIA and University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, France; an engineer degree (Ingénieur d'Etat) in computer science from ENSIAS (École Nationale Supérieure d'Informatique et d'Analyse des Systèmes) in Rabat, Morocco. In addition, she holds a D.E.A (Diplôme d'Études Approfondies) from ESSI (École Supérieure de Sciences Informatiques), Sophia Antipolis, France.

She speaks and works in three languages: Arabic, English and French.

Today she works at the ITU in Geneva. During her career, she has had wonderful opportunities to travel around the world and meet new and exciting people. She shares her passion for programming and team working with young girls and encourages them to consider a career in ICT.
