Introduction
The International Telecommunication Union at the kind invitation of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University, organized the Second Workshop on Network 2030, which  took  place on 18 December 2018, in Hong Kong, China.

The workshop was followed by the meeting of the ITU-T Focus Group on Technologies for Network 2030 (FG NET-2030) which took  place at the same venue from 19-20 December 2018. More details are available on the FG NET-2030 webpage.

Objectives
The Workshop on Network 2030 aimed to provide a forum for both industry and academia to exchange their ideas about networks in the year 2030 and thereafter. Participants were able to share their viewpoints, findings, latest research, and their project descriptions and goals. 

Target Audience
The target audience of the event included  ITU Member States, national standards bodies, ICT regulators, ICT companies, ICT research organizations, service providers, and academia.​​​​​ This event was  open and free of charge.
