Stefano Polidori
Advisor, ITU-T Study Group 9, TSB, ITU, Geneva, Switzerland

Stefano is Advisor at the International Telecommunication Union and responsible for the technical secretariat of ITU-T Study Group 9 "Broadband cable and TV”. He is also responsible for the Intelligent Transport Systems (ITS) activities, including the Symposium on the Future Networked Car at the Geneva Motor Show. Stefano is the ITU representative to the European Multi Stakeholder Platform on ICT Standardization at the European Commission. After few years in the private sector, joined the ITU in 2004 covering various positions including Coordinator for ITU Kaleidoscope academic conference and Advisor for Study Group 11 "Signalling, protocols and test specifications". Stefano holds a Master in Electronic Engineering from the University of Rome, Italy and a Master of Science in mobile communication from Aalborg Unive​​rsity, Denmark.

Ruoting Chang
Counsellor, ITU-R Study Group 6, BR, ITU, Geneva, Switzerland

The Counsellor of ITU-R Study Group 6 (broadcasting service). Before joining ITU in August 2018, he was the Director of frequency planning division and terrestrial radio services division of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technologies of P.R.C and the Vice-Chair of ITU-R Study Group 1 and the Chair of Working Party 1B on international spectrum management. He has been engaging in international radio frequency coordination activities from 2006, he used to be the key coordinator in China’s delegation in World Radiocommunication Conferences 2012 and 2015.





Jaroslaw Ponder
Head of the ITU Office for Europe, ITU

Mr Ponder is Head of the ITU Office for Europe at the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) (Geneva, Switzerland). Within the last years Mr. Ponder has been carrying out numerous projects, activities and initiatives at national, regional and international levels. He has been taking lead role in many international conferences and summits dealing with fostering ICT innovation and development of ICT ecosystem, information society, and advancements of digital economy worldwide, while setting strategies and ensuring their timely implementation.
Along the professional career Mr. Ponder held official positions in the public sector and was a contributor to the legislative projects having impact on the public policy. Since 2014 Mr. Ponder has been working for ITU, in Market, Economics and Finance Unit (MEF/ITU), Strategy and Policy Unit (SPU/ITU), Project and Initiatives Department (PRI/ITU). From year 2008 upon his former duties he has acted as Europe Officer (EUR/ITU) as well as Project Manager for European Centres of Excellence Network (CoE-EUR). In August 2008 he was appointed as Coordinator for Europe. After successful recreation of the coordination for the region in 2009 he moved to the General Secretariat becoming Strategy and Policy Coordinator and one year later Senior Strategy and Policy Advisor with the objective to lead the ITU activities on World Summit on the Information Society (WSIS; United Nation Process on ICTs) and its 10 year review, amongst the others successfully establishing prime platforms, i.e. WSIS Forum, WSIS Prizes, WSIS Stocktaking, and organizing WSIS+10 High Level Event (2014) that resulted in negotiated texts. In parallel, since 2011 he has been working as Coordinator for Europe strengthening coordination and implementation mechanism. In 2017 he became the Head of ITU Office for Europe, directing actions, projects, initiatives, experts groups targeting 45 countries and representing ITU in Europe.
AnaMaria Meshkurti
Program Officer, ITU Office for Europe, ITU

AnaMaria is the programme officer in the ITU Office for Europe, in charge of digital inclusion, skills, gender, youth, accessibility and innovation matters. Previously she conceptualized and managed the ITU Smart Incubator programme for emerging tech start-ups in developing countries as well as was in charge of ITU-T's non-statutory events including workshops, seminars and forums. She also led trainings for the Bridging the Standardization Gap programme, supporting ITU delegates in the standardization process. She is a communications professional with a strong background in public relation, tech start-ups, innovation and events management. Prior to joining ITU she worked for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), as well as in various UK based NGOs. She holds diplomas in Business Administration (MBA), Marketing and Communications (MA) as well as International Relations and Global Governance (Bs).

David Wood
Consultant, European Broadcasting Union (EBU), Technology and Innovation, Geneva, Switzerland

Dr David Wood has chaired standards groups in the ITU and DVB for many years. He led the work that resulting in the ITU specifications for digital television, high definition television, and ultra-high definition television. More recently he led the DVB work analysing Virtual Reality systems. He currently is a co-chair of the ITU IRG-AVA group which is examining the possibilities for common access systems for all media, broadcast, broadband, internet, and cable, and the ITU-R on audio renderers. He is Consultant, EBU Technology and Innovation.

Andy Quested
Chair, ITU-R WP 6C & Co-chair, ITU IRG-AVA

Andy Quested started working for the BBC in 1978 becoming a video-tape editor in 1985 where he worked on many comedy, children’s and documentary series.  Moving to a new technology department he, worked on introducing non-linear editing, stereo, widescreen, the BBC’s first HD programme Planet Earth I and the first UHD programme, Planet Earth II. Andy has been a Rapporteur for ITU Working Party 6C investigating the use of 3DTV, the Global Broadcasting Platform and image quality. He is a Co-Chair of the joint group on Accessibility and has chaired several Rapporteur Groups including the group that developed the HDR Recommendation until 2015 when he became chair of Working Party 6C itself.  As chair, he initiated new areas of study on Advanced Immersive Sensory Media Systems and Artificial Intelligence in content production and international programme exchange. Andy left the BBC at the end of 2020 but is still leading standards work in the ITU and EBU.  He is also an active member of SMPTE, becoming a Fellow in 2014 for work relating to standards and was part of the SMPTE Public Committee Document initiative in 2019.
Satoshi Miyaji
Chairman, ITU-T SG9, General Manager, KDDI Corporation, Tokyo, Japan​

Dr. Miyaji has a long history of participating in the ITU-T SG9 (“television and sound transmission, and integrated broadband cable") almost for twenty (20) years as an expert of broadcasting and telecommunications particularly for cable television networks and services. He served as Vice Chairman of SG9 and Chairman of WP1/9 for eight (8) years in 2009 – 2016. At the WTSA-16 (General Assembly of ITU-T), he has been appointed as Chairman of SG9 for the Study Period 2017 – 2020. In KDDI, he is now responsible for development and deployment of entertainment-related business and services such as video streaming, music distribution, e-books, live concert, and so on.



  
Christoph Dosch 
Vice Chairman, ITU-R Study Group 6, ITU

Christoph Dosch graduated from the Technical University Munich (TUM) in 1976. He started his career as scientific engineer with the Institut für Rundfunktechnik (IRT) in Munich in 1976 (www.irt.de), specializing in terrestrial, cable and satellite broadcasting as well as in related interactive (online) services. He retired in 2014 after having served the IRT as General Manager Collaborative Research for almost two decades. In parallel he served the European Broadcasting Union (www.ebu.ch) as well as the ITU (www.itu.int) in various chairman functions. From 2007 to 2015, he acted as Chairman of ITU Study Group 6 (Broadcasting service). Currently, he is Vice Chairman of this Study group and still working as liaison officer to ITU in his capacity as Senior Expert on Broadcasting Technology & Spectrum Management. His publications centered on digital transmission techniques, multimedia applications and the convergence of broadcasting and broadband techniques including access services for people with special needs. Since the closure of the IRT in March 2021, he has continued his work in a new team of media experts called ARD CCFM (ARD Competence Center International Frequency Management). The CCFM is located at the Bayerischer Rundfunk in Munich (www.br.de) and is working for the benefit of the German public service broadcasters who cooperate within the ARD (www.ard.de​).
​​ Yukihiro Nishida
Chairman, ITU-R Study Group 6, NHK, Tokyo, Japan

 
Dr. Nishida is an executive research engineer (Fellow) at the Science and Technology Research Laboratories, Japan Broadcasting Corporation (NHK), Tokyo, Japan. He has been involved in the research and development of many areas of broadcasting technologies, including high-definition television (HDTV), ultrahigh-definition television (UHDTV), high-dynamic range (HDR) TV, digital broadcasting, video coding, multiplexing, and quality evaluation. He is also active in the standardization of broadcast technologies in the International Telecommunication Union – Radiocommunication (ITU-R) Sector and the Association of Radio Industries and Businesses (ARIB), Japan. He was appointed as the chairman of the ITU-R Study Group 6 in October 2015 and reappointed in October 2019, after having served as the vice chairman of the ITU-R Study Group 6 and the chairman of the Working Party 6B for eight years.
Marcelo F. Moreno
Vice-Chair, ITU-T Study Group 16 I Associate Professor, Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), Brazil

Marcelo Moreno is an Associate Professor at the Computer Science Department of Federal University of Juiz de Fora (UFJF), where he is also a permanent member of the Computer Science Postgraduate Program. He holds Master and Doctorate degrees in Informatics from Pontifical Catholic University of Rio de Janeiro (PUC-Rio). He is the Rapporteur of ITU-T Question 13/16 (Multimedia application platforms and end systems for IPTV), co-chair of ITU Intersector Group on Integrated Broadcast-Broadband (IRG-IBB) and vice-chair of ITU-T Study Group 16 (Multimedia). He is an editor of many ITU-T Recommendations and technical papers. He is also a coordinator of the Middleware Woking Group at the Brazilian Digital TV System Forum (SBTVD). He has a solid history of publications and presentations in both academia and industry events, where he reports and enhances the achievements of his research and development initiatives.

Simao Campos
Counsellor, ITU-T Study Group 16, TSB, ITU, Geneva, Switzerland

Simão joined the secretariat of the ITU Standardization Sector in 2002, and is the Counsellor for ITU-T Study Group 16 (for standardization work on multimedia, including audio and video coding, accessibility/human factors, e-health, ITS, IPTV and digital signage) and ITU-T Focus Group on AI for health (FG-AI4H). He has a long experience in standardization, having started with voice compression standards in 1989. Prior to joining ITU, Simão was a Scientist at COMSAT Labs in the USA and a researcher at CPqD, a telecom research center in Brazil. A Senior Member of the IEEE, Simão authored several academic papers and position papers, served in the review committee of several IEEE-sponsored conferences, and organized the first ITU Kaleidoscope Conference.
