Claudio Ruibal has a Civil Engineering degree from Universidad de la República; an MBA, from IEEM, the Business School of Universidad de Montevideo; and a Ph.D. in Engineering from University of Pittsburgh. He currently serves as the Dean of the School of Engineering at Universidad de Montevideo. He is Professor of Operations Research at the School of Engineering and Professor of Decision Analysis at the MBA Program at IEEM. His research interests are optimization, quantitative methods and costs. His doctoral thesis is a study of the variability of power prices in deregulated electricity markets. It has been published by VDM Verlag Dr. Müller in January 2009, entitled Electricity Prices in Deregulated Markets: Predicting Prices for Decision Making. He has published articles in refereed international journals. He is also a reviewer for some journals.
