ITU/WHO Workshop on "AI for Health"

The International Telecommunication Union (ITU), and the World Health Organization (WHO) organized with the Minister of Posts and Telecommunications of Cameroon and support of TrueSpec-Africa, Cameroon a workshop on “AI for Health" at the Hotel Krystal Palace Douala, Boulevard de la Liberté Akwa, Douala, Cameroon, on 6 December 2022 from 09h30 to 17h00 WAT (UTC+1).​

This workshop was in a series of workshops linked to the ITU/WHO Focus Group on Artificial Intelligence for Health (FG-AI4H). The aim of these workshops is to provide a platform for researchers, engineers, practitioners, entrepreneurs and policy makers to discuss standardization opportunities for the assessment of AI for health solutions and to identify use cases and data required for the evaluation and validation with open benchmarks. The workshop was followed by the 17th meeting of the ITU-T FG-AI4H from 6 to 9 December. 

Participation was sought from practitioners in the fields of digital health, AI and machine learning, regulators, and other interested experts. Participation in the workshop and the Focus Group meeting was free of charge and open to any individual from one of the 193 countries that are a member of ITU.
