Derick works at the Communications Authority of Kenya as the Manager in charge of Telecom Compliance. He has over 10 years’ experience in the communications sector.
He is in charge of monitoring and reporting on Quality of Service in Kenya.
He also manages the measurement and assessment of EMF /NIR on the Telecommunication Installations in Kenya to ascertain their safety and compliance.
He is an Associate Rapporteur of the ITU-T SG5 Question 15 on Adaptation and climate change. He serves as editor in Question 13, 14 and 15 at the SG5. On the Regional front, Derick serves as the Secretary to the ITU-T SG5 RG-AFR.
He is passionate about consumer protection, quality delivery of services and continued optimization of ICT systems. He believes that it is possible to deliver quality without compromising the safety of the Environment
