Niels Kuster is Professor in the Department of Information Technology and Electrical Engineering, ETHZ and founding Director of the Foundation for Research on Information Technologies in Society (IT’IS) in Zürich, Switzerland. He co-founded the sister institute IT’IS USA incorporated in the State of Maryland, several spin-off enterprises, including Schmid & Partner Engineering AG, MaxWave AG, NFT Holding AG, Zurich MedTech AG, BNNSPEAG (India) and SCALK (Korea), and he serves as an adviser on the boards of several other companies. He has authored or coauthored over 200 papers. His primary research interests are in electromagnetic technologies, in silico tissue models, in silico based personalized medicine, and uncertainty evaluations and minimizations.
Prof. Kuster is a member of several standardization bodies and serves as a consultant on the safety of mobile communications for government agencies around the globe. During his career, he served on various editorial boards and received several scientific awards.
