CLARK Jamie, OASIS

Jamie_Clark_photo.jpgJames Bryce Clark is the General Counsel for OASIS, responsible for legal, policy and licensing matters, and the consortium's liaison and collaboration programs.  OASIS is one of the oldest and largest Internet standards consortia, focusing on e-commerce, open data, privacy, identity and cybersecurity.

He began his practice as a financing and corporate restructuring lawyer on Wall Street, representing banks and high tech companies.  He was an early chair of ABA committees on e-commerce and privacy, an editor and chair of the seminal ebXML transactional standardization project (ISO 15000), and a US delegate to UNCITRAL's work on harmonizing global e-commerce law.

Presently, Jamie serves on expert teams to support US government projects on identity (for NSTIC's IDESG.org), and cybersecurity threat information sharing (for ISE.gov's standards coordination council). He also serves on the planning task force of the European Commission's multistakeholder panel on public sector ICT standardization;  the Kantara Initiative's Assurance Review Board for identity provider certification, and the W3C Advisory Committee.  He also practices (of counsel) with the Los Angeles law firm O'Connor Cochran LLP.  He holds JD and BSc degrees from the University of Minnesota, and microblogs as @JamieXML on Twitter.
