John Kimbe.jpgMr. Kimbe is a holder of a Bachelor of Engineering Degree in Electronic Engineering and Communications from South Australian Institute of Technology and a Masters of Science Degree in the same field. Has been in the ICTs sector for over 35 years with the first 22 years working for Tanzania Telecommunications Company Limited. Moved to join Southern African Development Community (SADC) as a Telecommunications/ICTs expert of the SADC’s Telecom Operation Wing namely Southern Africa Telecommunications Association (SATA) in June 2001 as a Programme Manager coordinating and managing the SADC Region Information Infrastructure (SRII) Project aimed at interconnecting the region and connecting it to the rest of the world. SATA Secretariat is a Diplomatic Mission headquartered in Maputo, Mozambique. SADC, whose Secretariat is headquartered in Gaborone, Botswana, is an economic grouping of 15 Member States within the Southern and Eastern Africa.

Eng. Kimbe is currently the Manager of Technology and Policy matters at the SATA Secretariat responsible for Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs) projects coordination and regional policy formulations and developments.

Mr. Kimbe is a registered engineer with the Engineers’ Registration Board of Tanzania and a Member of several Regional and International Professional Institutions.
